Refund and Cancellation Policy
The short version: if Cana cancels, you get your money back. If we decline your application before running your screening, you get your money back. Monthly memberships cancel any time and run to the end of the paid month. Event tickets are refundable until 72 hours before the gathering.
1. Application fee ($15)
- Refunded in full if we decline your application before your background screening is run, or if we cannot schedule your welcome call within 30 days of your application.
- Not refundable once your background screening has been ordered, because the screening provider charges us for it whether or not you are admitted. We will tell you before we order it.
- If you withdraw your application before screening is ordered, email us and we will refund the fee.
2. Monthly membership
- Cancel any time by emailing contact@joincana.com from the address on file. Your membership stays active until the end of the month you have paid for, then stops. No partial-month refunds.
- Founding rate. If you cancel and later return, you rejoin at the current rate, not the founding rate.
- Removed for conduct. If we end a membership under the Code of Conduct, the current month is not refunded.
- Billing mistakes. If we charge you in error, we refund it in full as soon as you tell us.
3. Gathering fees and event tickets
- You cancel 72 hours or more before a gathering: full refund, or a credit toward the next gathering, your choice.
- You cancel inside 72 hours, or do not attend: the fee is not refunded, because seats are capped and balanced by gender and a late empty seat cannot be filled. We will offer a one-time credit for the first missed gathering if you tell us before it starts.
- Cana cancels or reschedules: full refund within 10 days, or carry your seat to the new date, your choice.
- We are unable to admit you to a gathering for a vetting or capacity reason on our side: full refund.
4. How refunds are paid
Refunds go back to the card or bank account you paid with, through our payment provider, usually within 5 to 10 business days of our confirmation. We do not refund in cash or to a different account.
5. Sponsors
Sponsor payments are governed by the written Founding Sponsor Agreement each sponsor signs, not by this page.

Write to contact@joincana.com. A real person reads it, and most concerns are settled in one reply. This policy is part of our Terms of Membership.
